Birdwatching in the Alentejo

In 2007, Herdade da Apariça e Chaparral took first place nationwide in a competition organized by SPEA titled "Discover the Birds on Your Property." The competition recognized Herdade da Apariça e Chaparral as the best site in the country for bird and nature watching, given the diversity of flora and fauna that can be observed across its 800 hectares.
